I recently launched Solas Art Studio to share my love of handmade stained glass creations, along with the occasional acrylic painting.
My journey with glass began in January 2026, on my living room floor in front of the fire. What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession — cutting, grinding and carefully fitting each piece together, before facing the never-ending battle with a soldering iron! Every piece is made by hand, with patience and care, to create unique designs that capture and transform the light.
The name Solas was inspired by my Irish heritage. My fathers side of the family is Irish, and with lots of family across Ireland, I’ve always felt a strong connection to the country and its landscapes, stories and sense of community. The word “solas” means “light” in Irish, which felt like the perfect name for a craft that is all about colour, reflection and bringing light into people’s homes.
I’m inspired by both bold, unexpected designs that you don’t often see in the glass art world and the beauty of the natural world around us. My aim is to create pieces that bring joy to any space — whether they’re a thoughtful gift for someone special or a little treat for yourself.
Solas Art Studio is my way of building a more creative and independent life around something I truly love. Each piece is made with passion, purpose and a whole lot of care, and I hope that comes through in every creation.
