Hello!
Friendship and fun are just two of the things I hope that my dolls will encourage.
I believe that dolls can inspire a lovely imagination for all boys and girls, and even bring a big nostalgic smile to a grown up.
Westwood Dolls are pretty, slightly quirky dolls who still have a passion for fashion.
I use Artist quality acrylic paints and seal the art work with tough but safe varnish.
I use gorgeous cotton fabrics and prefer to hand stitch as it looks much better than a solid row of machine stitching.
Cardigans, jumpers, hats and scarves are all hand knitted by myself and often trimmed with vintage buttons.
A bit about me...
I grew up on a farm in Oxfordshire, England in the days where you were out all day riding bikes and making camps and didn’t go in until tea time.
A trained artist and florist I have lived in Kent for almost thirty years , living in the midst of a large and wonderful wood which belongs to my husband’s family. I’m a mum to four beautiful girls.
I started my Folksy shop in 2016 and have been so lucky to sell dolls all over the world (my dolls are much more well travelled than I am!)
There is also a Facebook page ~ Ooak Westwood Dolls ~ where people can share photos and see my new dolls etc. Instagram too!
I price my dolls so that they still get to be played with and not end up as expensive ornaments on a high shelf - childhood is precious after all, so you should be able to enjoy it! All my dolls wear cotton knickers underneath their outfits.
Dolls are packed in tissue paper inside a pretty box, some boxes are large, some medium sized.
Parcels are bubble wrapped and posted swiftly.
