Hello and welcome to my shop!
I'm Sally Coop, an artist from rural Essex who is happiest when out in the countryside.
The beautiful natural world is inspiration for my designs, be it the wild strawberries or bluebells that grow in my garden or the brambles, holly or majestic oak trees that surround me in the countryside when I go walking.
I've always loved painting and drawing and studied for my degree at Wimbledon School of Art. Since then I have kept making artwork alongside working in the film industry for the last twenty five years.
My designs combine my love of nature with my personal stye of swirling lines and emphasis on shape and space. They begin with photographs taken on my walks (often hard to take with a lively cockapoo on the other end of a lead!) followed by several pencil sketches and a rough working out of the design. This then develops into the final piece created with watercolour pencils and ink pens which I love using together for the mix of soft watercolour and strong definition of pen.
