I'm Maria - the one who never could get the hang of matching colours, who was always covered in mud, and was extremely good at doing exactly what they'd been told was a bad idea, usually with a Labrador (or two) in tow. With that in mind, my career has been a little less than straight forward, but I do think that creates a lot of ideas and inspiration, and I like to think this is what you get to see in my lovely little shop. I love being outside in all weathers, and I love being surrounded by nature - this comes across in my work, I am a great believer in magic and looking for things that people otherwise miss.
I left my job 15 years ago to home educate our girls, before that, I worked in the music industry and then for an environmental charity - for the last 12 years I have been running my own small businesses alongside continuing to support our girls (you might know me better as The Beady Gecko), but earlier this year, I felt the time was right to add a new branch to my tree, and this little shop was born. It gives me a very good reason to play with card, paints and paper, and my shiny Cricut machine, I also have clay here to start work with too, as soon as my studio is clear enough.
