Rifted Oak Design is run by Andrew, who specialises in creating unique and innovative designs, seamlessly joining modern materials with traditional woodwork.

We are passionate about traditional crafts and modern technology alike. With qualifications from Cabinet Making to Information Technology, we use everything from laser cutters to lathes to create hand-finished quality products. Using technology-led design allows us to create unique, small batch pieces that you won't find anywhere else.

Taking inspiration from the old and enhancing with the new, our design philosophy will lead you to both the past and the future!

The name 'Rifted Oak' is taken from a favourite place of ours on the shores of Lake Derwentwater in Cumbria, where stands an old oak, worn by the ages and split in two by the elements. A stark contrast to the green landscape around it, the oak adds a poignant feature to the surroundings and has been the inspiration for both our name and many of the pieces we have designed.
