Creating art because I just have to.

Hello, I am Richard a contemporary artist living in Cumbria, home to the Lake District and the wild Cumbrian coast, both of which gives me lots of inspiration for my painting.

Growing up I have always enjoyed drawing and at age 18 went to study fine art and sculpture at Carlisle College of Art.

I have continued making a living as an artist in a range of different styles throughout my life. At the moment my favourite painting medium is acrylic.

I live at home with my wife, two grown up children and my goldfish, another of my passions, although my family just roll their eyes when they see me talking to the fish again.
