I started Hodgiepodgies in 2013 after becoming a single mum of 4 fantastic children and needing a totally flexible form of employment along with a way to incorporate my love for art and interiors. It all initially started out as a bespoke mural business where I would liase with clients then design and paint them their unique mural, this slowly blead onto creating hand painted papers for those clients further afield. In 2014, I attended a local lino printing course ( something I hadn't done since university where I gained my 2:1Ba (hons) in Interior textiles and surface pattern design(this seems so long ago as I'm soon to be 42!!)) and fell in love with its simplicity and innate way of calming my soul as I carve the lino...it's very cathartic...So, I also started selling my lino cuts at a local print gallery , The Dotty Dog, but I still wanted to create beautiful objects for the home so incorporating painting and printing on paper then became cards, lampshades, wallpapers, cushions, tea towels and more recently cups and mugs.
