Smokey green organic shaped...

I have always wanted to be a potter. After a successful pottery course at the age of nine, however, I took a break of several decades before finally deciding that life was too short not to follow my dreams.
I joined two local pottery studios, eager to learn as much as I could, build my confidence and begin developing my own designs and techniques.
I grew up in Africa, and its vibrant colours remain in my soul. I’m drawn to the bright hues of its people and plants, while the reds, browns and ochres of the clay connect me to the earth and evoke the African savannah and the Highveld’s pale winter grasses.
Working with clay has taught me patience and helped me slow down in a world that constantly urges us to move faster and consume more. Each piece is made thoughtfully and built to last. I particularly love creating functional pieces that can be used in different ways, treasured for years and, I hope, eventually passed on to someone new.
