About Pawsitive Hoofbeat

Pawsitive Hoofbeat

The place for handcrafted items and gifts for pets and their owners.

Welcome to my store! Here's a little about me. My name is Ashley I live in the north east and I adore animals big and small. The idea for Pawsitive Hoofbeat came about due to two things. The first was my desire to become self employed and the ability to choose my own working hours to better work around the needs of my ex race horse Alfie (we'll come back to him later) the second was after I lost my beautiful girl Lilly at the grand old age of 14. She was a rescue dog who came into my life at 18 months old she loved people and craved attention constantly. No matter how bad a day I had I could come home and she was so excited to see me it would just instantly put a smile on my face. She is one of the shops mascots and appears in our logo.

Now for the other other faces in our logo. Alfie the ex racehorse came to me in July 2021 and has swiftly taken over my life! He is the first horse I have owned despite being around them my whole life. I will happily admit I did not realise what I was taking on when I got him and I have had to learn fast! He is so unlike your typical thoroughbred in so many ways I thoroughly believed I could handle him. He is however your typical TB in that he injures himself..... a lot. He is however incredibly loving and has a beautiful personality making him very much a yard favourite (if I do say so myself!) We don't do much in the way of competitions but are very much enjoying being happy hackers for now.

The other cutie in the picture is my cat Arthur who I came across at 4 weeks old. I got him so young due to his then living conditions being abysmal and me being unable to leave him with his previous owners! He was covered in fleas, had a little worm belly and was in general bad health. Myself and my lovely vet got him cleaned up and healthy in no time! He is now very happy living his best live with his other two cat brothers Merlin who is a year older and Dali his little brother who we got just recently. I am also married to a very tolerant and loving husband who loves all the waives and strays I seem to find and fall in love with!
