Watercolour originals and prints

I'm an artist based near Bath in South West England. Living in the West Country, there's certainly no lack of artistic inspiration, as I'm surrounded by beautiful countryside, pretty villages and a rich history.

I paint a wide range of subjects that I'm interested in or that simply catch my eye; local towns and landscapes or places further afield, planes, animals, sporting scenes, musicians and even the occasional still life. Above all, I aim to capture the atmosphere of a time or place while trying to look at things from a new angle, sometimes veering into the semi-abstract.

I work mainly in watercolour, a medium that can be unpredictable and infuriating but also rewarding; not knowing quite how a painting is going to turn out is a constant source of fascination. I sometimes combine watercolour with ink and wax resist for added contrast. I also dabble in charcoal and acrylic ink, and hope to try out other mediums in the future.
