About Edith and Audrey

Edith and Audrey

Hello!

I'm Natalie and I make all of the things here at Edith & Audrey.

I've been making for as long as I can remember. When I was in my teens someone gave me a 1920s hand crank Singer sewing machine which I was still using in the early 2000s when I launched an Ebay shop selling bunting and handmade cards. It was around this time I was given a Bernina 730 sewing machine and the rest as they say, is history. I use a machine to create the bulk of my makes but I am also an advocate for slow stitching and many of my makes feature hand stitching or embroidery.

The name? Edith and Audrey are my grandmothers, who (along with my grandfathers) inspired me to live life on the thrifty side. The make do and mend approach often influences my work as I love to salvage and reuse fabrics that once had a life as something else, perhaps an old dress or a vintage curtain. I'm a huge fan of the Arts and Crafts movement so you will always find lots of William Morris and Liberty themed items in my shop and plenty of vintage Laura Ashley prints too!

I hope you enjoy browsing my shop. I am unfortunately unable to take requests and custom orders due to carer responsibilities and chronic illness but everything available to purchase in my shop is ready to ship, which I do within 24 hours!
