Creating wearable art for all to enjoy

Hello and welcome, my name is Claire. Thanks for visiting my site.

As a child, my creative spirit was nurtured and encouraged primarily by my older sister who is an incredibly artistic and creative person. Over the years, I have expanded my array of creativity pursuits which include knitting, dress-making, quilting, patchwork, crotchet, tapestry, cross-stitch, pottery-making, gardening to writing and playing music.

In 2006, I started experimenting with making jewellery and have been very fortunate to have attended a number of Art Clay Silver and lampwork glass bead-making courses since then. We are all attracted by beautiful things, be it a garment, a painting, a view - or a piece of jewellery. It gives me immense pleasure to take a few inanimate objects and with some thought and effort, transform them into something wearable that is unique and appealing that others can appreciate and enjoy.

I generally make one-off pieces and my designs primarily incorporate Sterling Silver (.925) and / or Fine Silver (.999), semi-precious gemstones, freshwater pearls, Swarovski Crystals and a vast array of beautiful lampwork glass beads, many of which are made by some of the UK's most talented glass bead-makers. I also make chainmaille using various metals, including Sterling Silver and the occasional piece from Art Clay silver.

All Sterling Silver items weighing more than 7.78 grams will contain a full UK Hallmark, which is your guarantee that the item you have purchased is genuine Sterling silver. I am registered with Goldsmith's London assay office (my maker's mark is MC).

As the price of Sterling silver continues to rise, I have begun using copper and good quality silver plated components in some of my pieces in order to keep prices more affordable. Where I have used silver plated components this will be clearly indicated in the description of the item.

For those of you who wish to try your hand at making your own jewellery, I have begun putting together kits to enable you to do so. Please look at the jewellery-making kits I have available.

Please have a look around my site - every piece of jewellery you will see here has been handmade by me - so if there is anything you would like shortened / lengthened or embellished in any way, please contact me to discuss.

Happy browsing!
