Pots galore made in a forest!

A very long time ago (it really does feels like a life time ago) I studied Ceramics. When I say "Studied" um, I mean, I was 'there' and had a wonderful time! (As I am sure, most 18 year olds do when away from home for the first time!)
My love of art, design and creativity in general didn't falter, but to say I felt "Out of my depth" on my degree course, with the super talented folk I was with, well I sure did, and at the time, Ceramics just wasn't for me. I managed to complete the course, then trained to be an art and design teacher. 20+ years on, I continue to teach (& still ❤️it)
2 Years ago, I took the scary decision to "Go part time". Needing something arty but not work related to help me adjust and achieve the dream "Work life balance" an overwhelming urge to learn how to throw emerged. Having never thrown or touched clay for years, it felt like a very naughty and quite a risky investment but I took the plunge and in July 2017 on the first day of the school holiday, I took delivery of my pottery wheel. 1 year on: It has been research filled, youtube video over kill, clay forums galore, waking in the night and dreaming about shapes, glazes, pot puns, decals...I have had a Ceramic renaissance and am officially obsessed with making pots....so much so, that despite forcing friends and family to try, to feedback, to microwave, to dishwasher, please help yourself to another mug! I struggle to ration my making and creating and as a larger home is out of the question, so here I am, giving selling a go. I hope to keep making, playing, creating, learning and loving my new clay filled life, so It's time to see if my friends and family are just being very kind!
I work with earthenware clay. I throw on my little pottery wheel and have a go at making moulds to slip cast shapes too. Sometimes combining and joining the two.
After a week or so of drying, I pop my pots in 'Kev the kiln' The first bisque firing is to 1000 degrees centigrade. After 8 hours of cooling and resisting opening Kevin too early, I wash and gently sand any rough bits. The pots dry for a day or so, then I get playing with colour, glazes and pattern. Another day of drying and back in Kev they go, this time, around the 1080degree mark....desperate to open and peek at my pots I wait until cooled and ooh and ahh at all the colours I hadn't really planned but love anyway. They get another light wash and sand. I then decide if the pots need anything more. I have a bit of a love of fonts and a daft pun I find ever so difficult to resist, hence the final stage and decal application. Back in Kev' to fuse the decals to the glaze, wait again, sand again and a final "Bottom wax". Long as the process is, I truly love every layer, every kiln opening, every decal decision...yup, and the icing and final cherry for me is the chuckle and lovely feedback from the dear folk that now own one of my pots. They are not perfect, I am learning and loving the process, and very new to all this selling malarky, so please mail me any questions or bits I've missed out on my listings.....Hey, I know this has been lengthy but my research said folksy folk love your back story! Apologies if not, but I do I hope you like and enjoy having a look at my pots, and even consider owning one!
Thanks heaps for looking.
