I'm sitting in my garden watching a bumblebee busily climb about an aquilegia flower. It's reminding me I need to print some more Bumblebee lino prints. So I walk down the garden path to my studio in the old garage. No car here, just an etching press and a Victorian document press that I use for lino.
I'm inspired by the creatures I see in the garden and my love for nonsense verse and nursery rhymes. The contrast between the real and imaginary worlds is a continual delight. The natural connection between creativity and play is something my three grandchildren regularly show me. I hope my work conveys something of that spirit of joy to you.
I began printmaking at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham, and later joined Gainsborough's House Printworkshop, Sudbury, Suffolk. I exhibited all over East Anglia and often at the Royal Academy summer exhibition. Now I am a member of the Devon Guild of Craftsmen, Bovey Tracey, and have shown work there since 1996.
