I'm Michelle Foulia, a British-Cypriot writer whose upbringing spans Cyprus and the UK. Despite personal challenges and battling chronic illness, I pursued my passion for writing, inspired by my primary school teacher's encouragement to use my writing as a gift of healing, and to alchemise my pain into purpose through my words.

My diverse background led me to study counselling, life coaching, animal-assisted therapy, bibliotherapy, positive psychology, therapeutic writing and clinical hypnotherapy.

In 2022, I published my debut book, "Poppy's Miracle," a children's story and journal based on my family's journey with ADHD. Around the same time, I founded Words for Healing to create and publish therapeutic books and guided journals for all ages. In the summer of 2026, I published My Therapeutic Reading Journal where readers journals about the books they have read in order to gain insight into their lives, leading to moments of awakening and growth. I am preparing to publish a grief journal and a children's picture book inspired by my autistic daughter's unconditional love for her soft toy Rabbit.

I live in North Wales with my Cypriot coffee consultant husband, our three children now aged 23, 18, & 14, our Greek rescue dog (and star of my first children's book) Poppy, and my daughter's cat Melon (she named him, blame it on her :)).

Being neurodivergent and highly sensitive to sound, touch, and smells, as well as battling fibromyalgia and CPTSD, I tend to spend almost all of my time in my home reading, writing, gardening when possible, and preparing traditional foods from my homeland Cyprus for my family.

I am still very much on my personal journey of healing so my work is informed and inspired by my personal experiences.

My writing aims to empower and inspire, encourage and spread hope and light. I am also preparing to launch an online programme on legacy, guiding those who want to curate their meaningful legacy for their loved ones (or the world) before their passing.
