We craft to relax and just have time for us.

We are retired from work but foster a young person with complex health needs so life is often hectic and we don’t get much time that’s just for us. We wanted to do something that didn’t involve paperwork, appointments or meetings and that would give us a chance to relax but not too much.
I make the jewellery, I became interested after doing a ring making course, I then went on to other courses and here I am. I decide on the patterns by a mixture of things I have seen, looking at the colours of the threads, sizes and shapes of beads I’m often quite surprised with the finished item as the end result is completely different to the idea I started with. I have made my own beads, I really enjoyed creating the patterns and colours then going on to make the jewellery.
Sheila does the knitting and sewing, hence the business name, she used to make clothes for our four children then went on to make clothes for our three grandchildren and now makes things for our four great grandchildren.
We both enjoy what we do and benefit from the time out we take to do the crafting and the sense of achievement when you look at a finished item.
