“making it up...”
...colours, textures, layers, transformations, taking the familiar and making it new...blue, sea, stars, sky, creatures and characters from alternative worlds or realities...these things excite me and manifest in most things I do.
Even though I live inland, the sea is always a strong focal point of my work. I make the most of the rivers and streams that I am close to, watching the movements of plants as if another planet, and these little 'daydreams' work their way into the things I make. It's all very spontaneous and intuitive - I couldn't really make the same thing again.
