Hello and Welcome to my Folksy Shop.
I’m Michelle, owner of Madhouse CraftsMum - interesting name choice I know, so let’s break it down.

Starting with the obvious, I’m a mum to two beautiful children who, along with my husband are my absolute world. I’m a lover of crafts and have dabbled in crochet, painting, paper crafts and vinyl to name a few, but my main passion is for sewing. Madhouse, quite simply is what we say we live in, especially over the last 10 years where health issues have seen us go through some very stressful times.

I started crafting as an outlet back in 2018 after my husband had major double lung transplant surgery, I was particularly anxious around keeping him well once he was discharged home. Throughout these years, crafting gave me an outlet, a distraction from my constant worry. I taught myself how to sew, and eventually moved into teaching sewing skills to others.

I love to make a variety of items, but my most favourite projects are bags. I’m really excited to share them here in my folksy shop.
