Machine embroidery and sewing
Hi I'm Lizz and originally come from Stiperstones in Shropshire. I moved to a quaint village of Lydbury North in South Shropshire.
I have always lived in the countryside and a lot of my work is based on the countryside.
My first job was in a trouser factory close to where I live now which is where I started my journey with sewing machines, I also worked at Laura Ashley's for a short time. When I had my children my home sewing machine actually got stored away.
Whilst my children were growing up I used to do lots of cross stitches and tapestries. These I still do.
In 2019 I became a grandmother for the first time and my daughter asked could I make the soft furnishings for my granddaughters bedroom. So out came my sewing machine from out of the cupboard and I made them along with matching lampshades and beanbag.
This was when I realized how much I enjoyed making soft furnishings. And Sew Lizzy was born. In the last 2 years I incorporated an embroidery machine which became Sew Lizzy and Embroidery, and realised that I wanted to make cushions but not always the normal panels you could get, as there was many crafters/sewers all doing these so I decided that machine embroidered panels was the way to go. I have been making these now for the last 18 months and a lot of the local people buy from me and request specific designs, different colour fabrics making them all very special. They can be personalized with names, dates, etc too.
I do have a partner in crime who very often sleeps in the window whilst I'm working on my creations and this is my black and white cat, Daisy.
This is still a hobby for me, I work full time also. But I feel it was now time to let you gorgeous people see some of what I make . And hopefully you will love what I do and make and find something special as a gift or just for yourselves.
As I have mentioned earlier i make to order also, personalised too. I also make photo cushions which again can be personalised and I am happy to make normal cushions to whatever size and colour way.
