Hello! I’m Leanne, a lover of all things whimsy!
I have always been a craft lover and would often be found surrounded by bits of paper, cardboard and pencils as a child. I loved trying out different mediums and loved creating things for others. I once set up a pretend shop with a friend from school where we sold our creative endeavours!
As an adult, I’ve found embroidery a way to soothe my frazzled nerves after parenting my whirlwind of a toddler and my day job of being a SEN teacher. After knitting and embroidering a few cardigans for friend’s new babies I soon caught the bug and had them asking when I was going to sell.
Then I came to clearing out my son’s wardrobe for clothes he’d grown out of. I became devastated at the thought of throwing out the masses of hand made cardigans our family friends, aunties and grannies had knitted him. A brainwave appeared and I started embroidering some to give them a new lease of life.
I mainly work from my sofa (until we move house - soon!) or the garden when the weather is nice. Toddler sleep time is my main window of opportunity. You’ll usually find my Golden Retriever, Daisy at my feet as I stitch, and my husband bringing me a cup of tea.
