A nice piece of jewellery makes everyone feel good, whether treating themselves or receiving it as a gift.

It's tough to find jewellery that's different. You want pieces to cherish that make you feel special, but everything feels either so samey or is so outlandish that you feel like you'll only wear it once or twice. You want something as unique as you are, one of a kind, but that is still classic enough to wear for years.

The process I use ensures each piece of my jewellery is unique and unlike anything you'll find anywhere else. I love colour and really like to work in a broad spectrum – from muted metals and neutrals, to vibrant oranges, purples and blues. My use of colour means that each item will look slightly different depending on the skin tone of the wearer, or what outfit they're rockin' that particular day.

I'm inspired by so many things but most of my favourite pieces come from trying to capture the interplay of light in the sky at a certain time of day, or by trying to capture the richness of the songs of colour in paintings.

I work in Aberdeenshire but I'm originally from Orkney where I worked in designer textiles and learned silver smithing. I live with my painter husband and a whole gang of rescue animals.
