Blackberry tart mouseJo Harratt fibre artist
Welcome through the door into Mrs Harratts garden, to a wonderful place to create.
Based in the Derbyshire hills in the spa town of Buxton, at the bottom of the garden is the workshop known as...
A creator of needlefelted animals, flora and fauna, using age old traditional skills. Needle-felting is a process using a barbed needle to tangle fleece, to sculpt with wool. We use English, alpaca, Angora, mixed fibres and merino wools.
Inspired by nature and my love of old vintage children books such as Beatrix potter, Brambly Hedge and Wind in the Willows.
These books have a magical timeless feel about them, which I try to recreate in my work.
The Menagerie is a place full of my creations and vintage curiosities. It is a Hamlet to escape and lose yourself in.
With workshops starting soon, I’m hoping to give you the same experience and all courses will be listed in my shop
when they are available.
Commissions are taken, please contact me if you’d like to discuss further.
My work is also available in several galleries up and down the country, as well as here on Folksy.
