About JC Sews

JC Sews

Cute, practical and sustainable!

I bought my first sewing machine in 2019, having been an avid cross stitcher since my childhood, but not really sure about other types of sewing. I went to a class and learnt how to make a cushion, and I was hooked on sewing! I started to craft little bits. I started to make simple clothes, and got a bit braver. When the Covid-19 pandemic put the UK into Lockdown, and my local (now closed, very sadly) sewing shop gave lots of online help and free patterns. I learnt how to make comfortable, reusable face masks, and started to quilt.

From day 1, I've hated left over bits of fabric. I try to be really sustainable in everything I do, and sewing had to be the same. So far, I've used small scraps as filler or stuffing on some projects, but sometimes there is a piece that is too big for stuffing and too small for much else, so I've been on the hunt for projects that use up these scraps, and that makes them unique. You won't find two identical items here, and even when there is a theme or a couple, they'll all look slightly different. Most of the products are natural fabrics and will biodegrade in your compost bin when they're at end of life.

All items can be made bespoke for you in a fabric you have in mind if we can source it, please contact me to arrange this. Thank you for reading and supporting this venture.
