My name is Janet Davies, a Shropshire based artist, working from my home studio.
I have been painting for many years, art has always been my passion since a very young age. I am completely self taught.
Having tried various mediums I soon realised that oils were my favourite medium so have continued to work with them.
I love the colours, textures and techniques that can be achieved with oils.

My love of animals has always influenced my work, which is why my artwork seems to evolve around them.
I enjoy painting animals and birds, placing them in unusual settings, portraying them in a realistic style with a touch of humour, which I hope will make people smile.
A lot of thought goes into the composition of the painting trying to portray their interaction with each other and their personalities.

The inspiration comes from the wildlife around me. I photograph the birds that land in my garden. Many of them are featured in my artwork.
Sculpture is a more recent passion, I have been producing animal sculptures for the past 10 years.

My original paintings, prints & sculptures have been sold in galleries in the UK and online.
Through my art I have been able to donate my work to specialist online art auctions to raise funds for dog charities. Which is very satisfying.
