Handmade Glass inspired by Devon

I draw inspiration from the diverse colour palette of Dartmoor and the Devon coasts. My glass incorporates up to four layers to create a sense of depth. The different layers are made through various processes and techniques using sheet glass, crushed glass, powdered glass, mica and enamels. The methods and techniques are endless, along with the complexity glass brings and the need for multiple firings. For me, the interplay of depth, colour, and light celebrates the beauty of Devon, which is why each intricate landscape is individually named. The glass is pressed to reduce the thickness, cold-worked, fire-polished and finished with a sterling silver bail to create a piece of artisan jewellery. Glass provides a mix of science and art, and this combination nurtures my passion, creativity, and curiosity to hone my skills.
