My journey with colour started long before I picked up my paintbrush full-time. Having spent many years as a florist, I lived and breathed the textures, scents, and colours of the garden and blooms. Today, I've traded the florist scissors for a canvas and brush, translating that lifelong love for flowers into vibrant, floral abstracts that beam with joy, warmth and energy.
For me painting is a way of stepping back into the gardens of my childhood. Remembering the feeling of being small enough to disappear into the flowerbeds and discover a little lost world of twisted branches, leaves and flowers. My work is an invitation to revisit those moments, the long, sun-drenched days spent exploring the garden and the simple joys of blowing bubbles into the summer air.
These signature floating 'bubbles' you see in my paintings are little bits of 'bottled nostalgia' they aren't just shapes, they represent that magical sense of possibility we felt as children. I paint them now to remind us all that the world still holds that same wonder, if we only take a second to look for it.
I work in my small home studio here in sunny Devon, usually with a dog under my feet!
Every painting I create is filled with a genuine sense of joy, so when you bring one of my pieces into your home, you aren't just buying a canvas, you're inviting in a bit of intentional happiness, a splash of colour, and a permanent reminder to find beauty in the everyday.
