About ImSewHappyByHayley

ImSewHappyByHayley

I sew for the love of it!

My love of sewing started back in high school! I took textiles as a GCSE all those years ago and only in the last 7 years have taken sewing back up buying a basic second hand machine to make cushions for my step daughters room for her snug and my first ever patchwork out of my sons cot bedding and bumper which is not the best but it’s where my love of patchwork came from.

I soon ran out of people to make things for as gifts so friends and family suggested that I should make and sell, even my dog has patchwork blankets! Over the last few years I have gained a small following on Facebook where up until now is where I have done all my selling. This is where you will see all my makes too- go and take a peek! I have now come to a point where I have the time to make up some items to show and sell instead of just making to order. So this is where Folksy comes in!

I love to make traditional patchwork blankets and these also happen to be my most popular item to make and sell closely followed by hanging fabric hearts. Both of these become even more popular around Christmas. This is my favourite time to make as I love the fabrics available and have already bought stock for this year! Since I upgraded to a fancier sewing machine (it’s also and embroidery machine) I can now personalise anything I make too!

Sewing has become my therapy as a way to battle through my down days, having a craft really can help. It also helps me unwind after my Monday to Friday day job working in finance!
