My journey into textile design began where so many great adventures do: at the nursery door. As a parent and carer, I found myself searching for decor that did more than just "look pretty." I wanted pieces that felt as good as they looked—decor that offered a tactile, sensory experience for children while maintaining a timeless, high-end aesthetic for the home.

Working from my home studio in the UK, I specialise in creating tiered collections of bunting and textile art. Whether it’s a simple personalised name banner for a playroom or a bespoke, hand-embroidered monogram for a wedding or newborn gift, every piece is "slow-made" with intention.

The Timber & Thread Philosophy:

Sensory First: I select fabrics—from plush bamboo velour and textured linens to crisp cottons—specifically for their "touchability." My designs often feature raw-edged "sensory leaves" and layered appliqués or crinkle material that encourage little hands to explore.

Heirloom Quality: I believe home and event decor shouldn't be disposable. By combining classic prints like William Morris with sturdy canvases and hand-stitched details, I create pieces designed to grow with your family and cherished as a memory long after the event.

The Maker-Carer Journey: Timber & Thread is a true "cottage industry." My making hours often happen in the quiet moments of a busy carer's schedule. This means every order is handled with the utmost care; I don’t just ship products, I ship pieces of a story.
