I’m Sue and around twelve years ago I discovered the wonderful world of bookbinding when I signed up for my first workshop. My love of books in all their forms and my love of sewing came together perfectly and I was hooked!
My materials are responsibly sourced and I love working with beautiful, tactile, sustainable cork, decorative papers and fabrics, including bio-washed linen and upcycled kimono silks.
Each book is a labour of love and it’s fascinating and incredibly pleasing to hear how people choose to use my books, from writers and artists to gardeners, bee keepers and mixologists!
I live within walking distance of the beautiful city of Cambridge, which has been my home for 40 years. My children have all flown the nest and the next generation is keeping me busy. Being a granny is such a delight and I can’t wait to teach my grandchildren how to create their own beautiful books!
Oh, and in case you hadn’t guessed, my favourite colour is green!

This is my FIFTH journal from Sue and she never disappoints! The cork is so durable which is great since I use these journals to carry around with me everywhere, and they are light to carry as well. With all the different designs I have so much fun choosing a new one every year! Thank you so much Sue for another fantastic journal! And the sneaky extra gift!

I received my book today. What a lovely surprise. The book is exquisite. Beautifully made with great skill and care. The boards are exactly as shown, so attractive with a delicate, wild flower pattern. The stitching is perfect and the linings extremely neat and pristine. It is a perfectly formed work of art. I am sure it took hours to make and was incredible value for money. It is worth more I think. Thank you so much. Posted as promised and arrived on time. It was beautifully packed as well, all safe inside a protective book box.

This was absolutely perfect for what we wanted. It’s a lovely alternative to leather, it looks super high quality, and the postage and packing was all done with such obvious care.
I looked for a long time for a nice alternative to leather for a gift and was so happy to have come across these!
