Hand drawn building portraits

My love of drawing began early, and it was always buildings that drew my attention. As a student, I spent hours sketching in Williamson Park in Lancaster, captivated by the composition and presence of the Ashton Memorial. What began as A‑level Art became the foundation of a lifelong fascination with architecture, proportion, and place.

That early curiosity naturally evolved into a career in architecture. I am now a RIBA Chartered Architect, specialising in the design of bespoke private homes for clients. Drawing remains central to my practice — both as a way of understanding buildings and as a means of celebrating them.

The watercolour house portraits I create for this shop bring together these two strands: architectural understanding and careful, hand‑crafted illustration. Each piece is approached with the same attention to proportion, detail, and character that I bring to my architectural work, resulting in a timeless and thoughtful representation of a much‑loved home.

Every portrait is created slowly and deliberately, as a one‑off artwork, intended to be cherished for years to come.
