Hello! I’m Emily, a glass artist based in Sheffield, U.K. I was previously working in HR and realised I desperately needed something creative in my life. Then I stumbled across a YouTube video of Lino Tagliapietra working with glass, and was completely transfixed. Glass holds energy; heat, movement and timing. It’s somewhere between science and art, a forcefield where chemistry and intuition meet. I knew I needed to immerse myself in it.

I began working with glass around three years ago at Penland School of Crafts in America, and have been continuing that journey ever since.

My practice sits between function and fun, creating objects to be used, lived with and (hopefully) loved. I like making glass that feels familiar, bringing a sense of nostalgia and play while still being rooted in functionality.

Everything is made by me in England, from start to finish. I hope you find something here that connects with you.
