Hand printed Linocut prints and cards inspired by nature

Hello, welcome to my Folksy shop! I’m Fiona, a printmaker and artist from the Yorkshire wolds. I specialise in Linocut prints / lino prints and my main love is for nature and the countryside around us, which are the main themes for my Linocut prints and cards.
I work from my home studio in Yorkshire where I create my Lino prints by initially creating a drawing where I put my design onto paper. Sometimes I like to draw on location outdoors where I sketch scenery or wildlife and then take my drawings home to transform into my designs. Once I have my design drawn out on paper I then transfer my drawing onto a lino block in pencil and then hand carve the design into the lino block. apply ink to the block and print my design onto Archival quality 50% cotton printmaking paper using environmentally friendly oil based inks and my little relief printing press.
My prints hung to air dry for 4-7 days depending on the time of year and ambient temperature, then I mount each print into an acid free picture mount with backing board, ready for packaging up and sending out to customers.
I try to use local suppliers and recycled and recyclable products for my packaging, therefore limiting impact on the environment.
I have 2 dogs, Coco and Kira who join me when working in my home studio or out in the countryside sketching.
