Emma and the Bear started in January 2022 when I finally listened to my family and started to show my art on social media. Before this, I'd always draw lovely pictures for myself and then leave them hidden in a cupboard.

People began to look at the photos I'd posted online and ask if I could draw their house or pet and Emma and the Bear became a real thing.

I have a Monday-Friday day job, come home, do all the usual housework and Mum stuff then in the evenings I work at my dining table on Emma and the Bear. I am kept company while I'm drawing by my faithful friend, the Bear. He loves to sit on the chair next to me and watch me draw, then he'll curl up in a ball and sleep beside me...in between kisses and cuddles of course.

Oh! and he's not actually a bear. He is a black cockapoo who just looks like a bear.

I love drawing. I get completely lost in the piece of art that I am creating and I forget about everything else. It's a great way to relax and have some much needed calmness. I am always thinking and looking for things that I could draw.
Apart from what I learned in secondary school, I am mostly self taught. My favourite medium is blendable pens and fineline pens and I have always loved the juxtaposition between black and white drawing and coloured drawing which is why I incorporate both into a lot of my drawings.
