I have had a love of art from a young age, winning some competitions in school, with a drawing of old miners lamps being chosen to hang in the then newly built Scottish Parliment.
I studied Contemporary Art in Edinburgh and graduated with a Higher National diploma.
I am mostly inspired by nature and landscapes and also love the whimsical and atmospheric.
My surroundings of Midlothian and Edinburgh are a big inspiration in my work as well as flowers, plants and my garden. My work is usually bright, I really love colour but my friends and family say " if it stays still long enough, theres a chance Denise will paint it."
Youl find me usually painting away with Buddy the parrot and Shelly the tortoise.
