“Hand made crafty things”
Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
My logo above represents the different crafting things I do. I have called the little character Lizzie Lou, which happen to be my daughters' middle names.
A good friend introduced me to crafting with beads at first. Then we moved onto making cards and selling them for our department in the NHS. We have raised over £1000 which is a lovely way of being able to carry on making.
When my first grandson was on the way I picked up my knitting needles and, three years later, I haven't put them down. Baby blankets, bobble hats, cardigans and a design of my own for a baby sling cover are still top of the list.
Then came the glass. I went to a stained glass workshop and now there's no stopping me. I have my own studio in the garden which is spacious and bright and I create my glass pieces in it. I have a kiln which has opened up a whole new way of working. I also have mosaics and make garden mirrors and stepping stones with them. I have a lovely colourful pathway leading to the studio. I now have a lampworking torch in the studio too, with which I make teddy bears, snowmen and penguins as well as beads.
Now I have several good friends who come regularly to experiment with new ideas and we call it playing....why should that be restricted to children?
I run workshops in my lovely studio so if you fancy having a go at stained glass, kiln fired glass, lampworking or mosaics do get in touch
