A Random Knick-Knack Maker, Sometimes

I don't make things often because I can't afford a lot of materials and don't have a lot of time, but when I do manage to have the materials to make something out of and I have spare time, I find pleasure out of crafting things when I can. I prefer to sell them on rather than keep them, as I often take more joy and interest in the crafting process rather than having or using the thing itself.

I began making things when I was volunteering at an animal sanctuary that provided equine therapy and natural horsemanship training. They were celebrating Christmas and wanted to attract more people to the area, so they made various stalls where they would sell things to make more money for the sanctuary. I got the idea to design and craft a bunch of Christmas tree decorations for them to sell at one of their stalls (which my grandparents also helped me with when they found out about it, and were much better than me at it). While this was successful for a while, they did unfortunately end up having to close down due to financial struggles. They were a lovely place and taught me a lot of things about horses and ponies.

Everything I make is from my own home, where I also look after my cat named Ripley. When with her previous owners, she was let outside and hit by car, breaking her pelvis and back legs, and as it has healed over the years she has ended up bow-legged in her hind legs. She is now happy and healthy and walks fine, but people often ask about it when they see her because of her unique (and very cute) stance. She likes to scare me by sitting on materials that are on the table while I'm in the middle of gluing something together, but she is otherwise a very good and polite cat.
