Bespoke Steel and glass Sculptures

Hi My name is Peter. I am semi retired mechanical engineer with 45 years experience in fabrication and manufacturing. predominantly in the automotive product development sector. A very hands on job where I used many fabrication processes including welding, turning, milling etc with a wide range of materials. I am passionate about steel and how it works and how it fits together.
I love the outdoors and with my wife enjoy long walks in the country and this has inspired some of my work. seeing derelict buildings, churches, broken down walls they have a charm that somehow enhances the outdoor experience. I wanted to re create the images in steel and glass not an exact replica of anything specific but more a representation to maybe remind you of days out or places you have seen.
Each piece is unique and a one off and can take up to 20 hours to complete. Each piece of the sculpture is hand made individually and I use a Tig welder to join together this gives a very neat and small weld. the whole thing is then heat treated and dipped in a sealing oil then buffed back to give a lovely rustic patination then lacquered. Finally I fit a felt or fabric base and each one is Numbered signed and logged.
