Millefleurs creates lovely gifts from nature and broken things.

Really I am a gardener who cannot garden anymore, so I brought the garden into my home by the sea and started to make things. It is a joy to stop and take a look at leaves and flowers up close. I make wreaths and garlands, bouquets and flower crowns

Millefleurs also hires out vintage china for sunny afternoon parties in the garden or pretty weddings…..often pieces get broken, which made me sad because they are often so lovely and will never come again. So I gather up the bits and turn them into mosaic tiles and mirror frames.

I also create proddy rugs rather slowly from jumpers that have shrunk or blankets that have seen better days. Everything gets washed on the hot setting and becomes almost like felt. Then cut into strips to make strong colourful rugs that are so comfortable to walk upon. These rugs were often made in times of need and poverty by the mining communities, during the wars and by the canal boat people.

In this mad wild world I try to work with nature avoiding all plastics and foams and crazy packaging.

I have a tabby cat called……Tabby.
