We're Sam and Andy of Buttercups Pottery, shaping clay colour and creativity into heartfelt pieces inspired by the beauty of North Yorkshire.

Hi, we're Sam and Andy, a pair of creative souls,

We've been together since college and happily married for over 30 years. Both of us come from creative backgrounds, Sam spent years sharing her love of art and craft through teaching, While Andy has enjoyed a vibrant career in the fashion industry.

Now, we run Buttercups Pottery studio, in the lovely village of Great Ayton, North Yorkshire. Tucked at the foot of the stunning. North York Moors and a short hop from the coast, we are surrounded by nature that constantly inspires us.

At Buttercups, we create our own pieces and also love helping others discover their own creativity, whether you're a complete beginner or already confident with a paint brush. We believe everyone has artistic potential even if you have always said "I am not the arty type!" Our studio is a welcoming space for all ages and abilities.
