“Gifts from trees”
My love of wood started at school - that was a few moons ago when woodwork was a weekly lesson! The art crept in when managing a game reserve in South Africa where I found inspiration from the dried tree roots left from elephants pushing and pulling trees for their foliage. When I returned to the UK I turned to creating garden art with some of our wonderful hardwoods, regularly exhibiting at RHS garden shows.
As the desired wood became harder to source and ever increasing in cost I found myself looking for something different, and during the lockdown I discovered the scroll saw which has led me on a path from large garden sculptures to small wooden sculptures.
My love of nature, animals and pets has inspired me to make gifts that celebrate the love and emotions of unique, happy relationships.
