Welcome to Bluebell Coast on Folksy! All my items are handmade with care, from my home in the Somerset countryside.
I send everything by the Royal Mail Tracked 48 service, and postage is only charged on the item with the highest rate of postage. All other items in the order will be free to post, so please take advantage of this! All purchases are wrapped in lovely blue tissue paper, and can be sent directly as a gift, with a handwritten gift card, at no extra charge. I’ve always loved fabric and sewing, from making tiny doll clothes with my Mum when I was little, to designing and sewing my wedding dress (many years ago!). I studied at The Scottish College of Textiles and worked in fashion retailing, before eventually moving into accounting and business administration
Now retired, I’ve been able to spend more time exploring new sewing techniques and have discovered a love for sewing bags, purses, accessories and cushions. I’m inspired by the countryside around me in Somerset, and the beautiful Devon and Cornwall coast, using fabric with botanical and wildlife prints, with some nautical colours and stripes. I mainly use cotton fabric and try to always be as sustainable as possible - no scrap is too small to be turned into something new!
As well as selling on Folksy you can also find me at craft markets around Somerset and Devon and this is something that I really love - it’s a great way to connect with other crafters and customers.
Animals are a big part of my life - I have a dog and two retired horses. When I’m not sewing I’m usually outside, walking my Border Terrier Martha, looking after the horses or attempting to grow things in the garden!
