Creating cushions and doorstops to brighten your home

I’ve always loved fabric and sewing, from making tiny doll clothes with my Mum when I was little, to designing and sewing my wedding dress (many years ago!). I studied at The Scottish College of Textiles and worked in fashion retailing, before eventually moving into accounting and business administration

My interest has now turned towards interiors rather than fashion, and the use of textiles to add pattern, texture and style to our homes. I’m inspired by the countryside around me, and the beautiful Devon and Cornwall coast, using fabric with botanical and wildlife prints, with some nautical colours and stripes. Dogs and other animals may pop up in there too!

I’ve got lots of ideas for new projects, especially using up all the scraps to save them from the recycling bin. I’m always looking to learn new techniques - quilting, appliqué and crochet are all on my to do list. So many ideas…just need to find a few more hours in every day!

Animals are a big part of my life - I have a dog, a cat and two semi retired horses. When I’m not sewing, I’m usually walking my Border Terrier, looking after the horses or attempting to grow things in the garden!
