Hello and welcome to my shop, I hope you enjoy your visit.
I knit garments and accessories for newborns through to adults and everyone in between.
Currently all the items listed are available and ready to ship, however I do accept custom orders and hope to offer made to order items in the future, so please get in touch if you have something particular in mind.
Hi, my name is Sharon and I'm a fifty something crafter who likes to try anything creative, however knitting is my life long passion and stress reliever. I knit and/or crochet every day. My spare bedroom looks like a yarn store and it drives my husband insane! He says I have an illness and I agree with him: Craftitus!
I caught the knitting bug at an early age thanks to my mum and Nan who always had projects on the go, so it's in my blood. However it was a long and agonising process. My mum’s patience wore thin very quickly because I'm left handed and it was a real struggle for her to teach me. Thankfully I had a really good Auntie who saw something in me and through her sheer perseverance, I now knit right handed!
My main passion is Aran. I like the look and feel of the designs which are so varied, and I love the fact that once on the needles they grow so quickly! I also love that the yarn and designs are so versatile, keeping you warm in the Winter and cool in the Summer and an Aran goes with any outfit, very classic and always in fashion.
I have been fortunate enough to knit garments for shop displays and because of the high standard I regularly gained commission orders from them. Whilst living in Ireland I also knit gloves and scarves for a local Aran Knitwear Company who sells worldwide. More recently I have had commission orders from golf pro shops as well as movie and TV production companies.
In my opinion, Aran and in some respects knitting itself isn't being taught to the younger generations, so I feel that I'm doing my bit by keeping the skill alive. The world today is all about mass produced, throw away items and children all seem to want designer labels. We need to get the message across that hand knitted garments are just that. They are usually made especially for the person, with love and care, won't fall apart the first time you wash them, fit perfectly in a capsule wardrobe and usually have a designer label attached as they are one of a kind!
