Passionate about textiles, colours and upcycling has led my journey as a textile Alchemist

I am a self taught hobbyist, recently retired from an Advanced Nurse Practitioner role. Started with crochet, then embroidery, dabbled with origami, upcycled several items of clothing. Decided my creativity was in making hats, bags, scarves and re-inventing clothing that may have been destined for landfill. The rich colours and feel of silk, taffeta and velvet. The romantic combination of quality cotton, linen and lace have driven my latest project. The challenge however has been in what to create. For now, I have settled on making 'saddle bag' style bags, boho scarves, corsages, and quirky fabric necklaces . I am currently doing my best with upcycling an old bucket hat or two as a lining and shape on which to apply my fabrics

Through hand stitching, hand dyeing, patching, scorching, fraying, and visible repair, I transform forgotten fragments into wearable and functional curiosities — each piece rich with character, history, and soul.

By blending old with new (unfortunately I do need to dip into my stash of new textiles in order to complete a project.) I let raw edges, exposed seams, and visible mending become part of the story. Nothing is made to be perfect; every creation is meant to feel unique, expressive, and beautifully remade.

I welcome bespoke commissions using your own cherished textiles — whether a piece of lace from a loved one’s garment, a snippet of wedding fabric, or a treasured heirloom cloth. Each creation is made with care and sentiment, transforming your memories into something new and meaningful. Custom orders require a non refundable 50% deposit before work begins. I also offer wedding keepsakes, favours, and ring cushions crafted in your chosen style. Refunds and returns follow the standard Folksy policy. Ready made items will be posted out within 5 working days, postage cost is added to the final bill
