A modern take on the ancient craft of woodcut.

I picked up woodcut printmaking during the second year of studying a degree in Art Practice. The process is very involved, using many different tools and materials to create a finished print; from selecting and preparing wood, carving wood, caring for tools and printing.

Woodcut printmaking is the most ancient form of printmaking, with examples dating to as far back as 220AD. I feel that my work allows me to play a small role in keeping the tradition of woodcut alive.
