Unique hand knitted clothes for wild babies and toddlers, using natural yarns and traditional patterns.

I am Jane and I come from over three generations of knitters. I started knitting as a little girl on holiday in Scotland, learning from my Dad - the only person who could knit slowly enough for me to pick up the craft.

I have always loved the traditional stitches and patterns used in creating aran, fair Isle and fisherman’s jumpers and cardigans that have been passed from mother to daughter for centuries. I have knitting patterns and needles that belonged to my grandmothers and my mother used.

My baby and toddler clothes are created using traditional patterns, with the occasional modern twist and each one is unique.I mainly use natural yarns that are machine washable. Who has time to hand wash baby clothes? I love merino wool, baby alpaca and cotton but an occasional wool mix slips in if the right colour catches my eye. I take my colours from the changing seasons, the countryside and the coast and often knit outside as the fisherman’s wives used to do in the villages around the coast of the UK
.
I spent many long days on the beach with my own wild children and a warm jumper or hat was always an asset what ever the weather if only to pile up to mark our “spot” on a beach.
