Creator of Stitchbooks: photographic fabric memory books

I am a textiles artist specialising in fabric memory books (called ‘Stitchbooks’) as well as retro-inspired embroidered artwork.
I have been creating handmade fabric books since graduating from Kingston University with an Illustration degree in 2007. In the past year I have developed this passion into the new craft of Stitchbooking and i'm keen for other people to become involved with it too.
Stitchbooks are beautiful handmade photographic fabric books made using a mixture of scrapbooking and textile techniques. They are based on the use of Photo Transfer Paper, which allows you to add digital images to fabric in a high-quality and hard wearing way.The craft can incorporate  a huge range of textile crafts, for example: embroidery, applique, quilt making, cross stitch and silk painting.  You can make books or pages like you would in a scrapbook- to record a family holiday or a particular event like a birthday. You can treat them like a journal and create a time capsule of your life right now, or you can make an Illustrated book on a particular theme.

I create Stitchbooks and Stitchbook Cards for commission based on your photographs and memories. I also hold workshops to teach this new craft and sell starter kits for those who are already confident with basic sewing techniques.

I am based in Southsea, and have a beautiful little studio in the Hotwalls studios in Old Portsmouth which I share with another lovely textiles artist.
