Fused glass art

I've always been fascinated by dichroic glass, and when a friend and neighbour mentioned wanting to buy a kiln, but not really being able to justify the expense I suggested we each pay half and share the kiln between us. We can sometimes be a bit of a bad influence on each other when it comes to impulse shopping, but this was one of our better ideas that we haven't regretted, despite sometimes opening the kiln lid and finding completely unexpected results.

I enjoy the challenge of starting with an idea and then puzzling out how to make it out glass, which often requires learning a new technique when the item cannot be made by simply fusing pieces of cut glass together in the kiln.
