I'm Old School, Drawing from early on, School Art teacher gave me a dipping pen and a bottle of pen & ink, the rest is history.
Sold stuff here and there over time then took the plunge and went self employed ...Artistic Freelancer.
My love for history drew me to old buildings namely Pubs, these I drew but took them back in time to create an interesting
story, based on local history. Then someone asked can you paint murals ? ...Yes I lied and very quickly taught myself, as always,
to draw and paint on a larger scale ...my first 29 foot by 8 foot Mural was a sucess and the orders from one of Scotlands biggest breweries just kept coming. As time went on people asked for my input on themes and design etc. Lots and lots of Pubs, then other companies came along and my Artwork became more and more varied. Branched into Hotels and even Hospitals, but the biggest by far was the biggest Italian restaurant in Scotland. Then Illness intervened bringing our working lives to a crashing halt.
Now many years on I am trying to resurrect my "career ", I still undertake custom work, but what you see on Folksy represents the ranges I am interested in. Back full circle almost with Scotland's History, Myth and Legend always in my mind.
Now I am assisted with a huge wide format printer, and a laser printer cutter tool that means the artwork ranges
continue to expand and divert in ways this Old School scribbler, could never have dreamt on back in those dirty auld streets
