Produce hand turned pens from wood and resin

I started wood turning about 20 years a go as a hobby. I worked in IT so wanted something ompletely different from what I spent every day doing at work. Initially it was very relaxing even if I spent most of my time turning big bits of wood into wood chips and sawdust with very little actually being produce.

I then succeeded in making the odd candlestick and bowls, and then pens and key rings which saved me some money at chhristmas and birthdays as they made ideal gifts.

I wasn't able to do any for a while as I had no where to set up my lathe, but when the job I had with the council ended in dec 2019, I talked my wife into allowing me to put a lathe and some tools into her new shed, and started turning again.

Like most people of my generation I used a pncil in primary school, but when I got to secondary school we were required to use a pen and not just a BIC biro but a fountain pen.

I've had a thing about fountain pens ever since, my writing is terrible and it was generally believed when I was young that I had the hand writing necessary to be a doctor, unfortunately I was far better at history and accountancy than I was at science so I ended up in IT and then teaching and then accountancy.

Surprisingly enough although I started out as a computer programmer and systems analyst, and while I do own several computers and akindle fire, I love writing with a fountain pen and reading real books. I put it down to the love of history.

So now I turned various types of pen. My favorite is obviouly fountain pens I particularly like the Large Junior Gentleman that has a nice heavy feel to it and the TM Omega which allows you to screw the lid to the top of the pen when using it, I have been known to loose the lid from expensive pens on occasion.

Folksy seem to think people are interested in my pets I have none, my wife has a ginger tom cat, that is old, bad tenpered and only wants to know you when he's hungry, he is also the biggest coward I've ever seen, even the local kittens push him around.
