Who?
Welcome to our shop! My name is Patricia, together with my daughter Katherine we make up Vintage Taylor Maid. I studied art at school and have always loved being creative. Katherine also shares that creative gene and has a degree in 3D design. The name of our shop is a reflection of the influence of past eras as well as encompassing our family name.

What?
It all began in the summer of 2015 and a chance remark by my cousin set me off in the direction of headdresses. Until that time I had tried my hand at up-cycling furniture and jewellery-making but without finding my niche. I now spend what spare time I have creating new designs for hair accessories and jewellery, particularly with brides in mind. These designs I like to think of as being influenced by past eras but with a modern twist. We specialise in hair accessories such as tiaras, wreaths, hair vines and hair pins, as well as jewellery for special occasions. Katherine focuses on the personalised items such as our popular cake toppers and wine glass charms... perfect for all celebrations.

Where?
I live within easy reach of the centre of London where I can visit galleries and exhibitions to gain inspiration for my designs.

Our beaded items are largely made by recycling both vintage and modern jewellery and I am always on the lookout for unusual beads. My favourite part of the process, once I have decided upon the design, is playing with bead and wire combinations. A piece can take anywhere between an hour and several hours to produce, depending upon its complexity. The fact that we source vintage beads and supplement them with modern components makes our shop that bit different and helps give our pieces an added dimension. We are happy to work with a customer on producing the piece they are in search of and, if time allows, will try to source specific elements in order to meet their needs. I think it's such a privilege to create something unique for a bride on her wedding day.

Most of the beaded items I make are 'one-of-a-kind'. However, should you require multiple items I am often able to oblige, or make similar items that 'mix and match'. If you don't see quite what you are looking for - perhaps you require a different colour wire or bead combination, please get in touch...I'm always happy to do what I can to help.

I see no reason why you can't have a quality item but without the expense. You will notice, therefore, that we aim to provide exceptional items at prices that are affordable for everyone.

All pieces are hand-crafted and, consequently, may have minor anomalies, which will, hopefully, only add to their charm.

Returns Policy

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.

Returns and exchange details
Please note that all pieces are hand-crafted and, consequently, may have minor anomalies, which will, hopefully, only add to their charm. As a consequence, refunds are not usually offered unless the item is lost or damaged. However, each case will be dealt with on an individual basis. For non-faulty items no refund will be considered after 30 days from the purchase date of the said item. Please note that refunds cannot be given for any personalised, made to order or custom made items.

Damaged items:
All items are securely packaged prior to shipping. In the unlikely event that an item is received in a damaged state it would be most helpful if images could be taken and forwarded to me, allowing me to proceed with your claim. Please contact me within 24 hours of receiving your package when a mutually agreeable solution may then be reached.

Lost items:
Our items are dispatched by Royal Mail. Please refer to the Post Office website for estimated delivery times for each given delivery service. Unfortunately, these are only guidelines and delays do occur. Vintage Taylor Maid cannot be held responsible for the late arrival of any item. However, if you are at all concerned that your item has been lost in transit, please contact me, so that the Post Office may then be informed and an investigation begun. In certain circumstances, if it appears that your item is lost, you will be offered the choice of a replacement (if possible), or a refund. Please ensure your stated delivery address is correct. Vintage Taylor Maid cannot be held responsible for items lost as a result of an incorrect delivery address being provided.

Refunds/Replacements:
Yes, we are only human and sometimes (very rarely), we get it wrong! If this is the case and you don't receive what you have asked for, you may be offered a refund or a replacement (whichever is best for you). However, we will need proof that the order has been actioned incorrectly, so will ask for images to be forwarded to us first.
